This past Friday, March 2nd was an exciting day at our new High Tech Middle School in San Marcos. Students, teachers and guests alike witnessed the traditional “topping out” ceremony—placing the final steel beam on top of the new school building.
Paul Dooley, Project Manager for Facilities Development for High Tech High, acted as Master of Ceremonies for the project, which is currently under construction with general contractors, Bycor. Kids and teachers from the current High Tech Middle signed the beam, which was then, along with the customary flag and evergreen tree, hoisted atop the building to a joint cry of, “lift that beam!”
Everybody is looking forward to the scheduled opening of the new High Tech Middle charter school in September later this year.
